IMF To Eye Provisioning Ukraine With Second Stand-By Tranche On May 8

The board of directors of the International Monetary Fund intends to consider the allocation of the second stand-by tranche to Ukraine on May 8 instead of earlier scheduled May 13, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said.
«The Board of the Fund has decided to boost the holding of the its meeting and scheduled it for May 8 taking in account fruitful work of the government in implementation of the agreements reached between Ukraine and the IMF,» she said.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the IMF has admitted the allocation of the second tranche worth USD 2.8 billion to Ukraine .
On November 5, 2008, the IMF decided to grant USD 16.4 billion to Ukraine to overcome turmoil in the country's economy.
On November 10, 2008, the Fund allocated the first tranche worth USD 4.5 billion.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the IMF has admitted the allocation of the second tranche worth USD 2.8 billion to Ukraine .
