Changes to the law on parliamentary regulations adopted by the Verkhovna Rada are unconstitutional, BYuT deputy Volodymyr Filenko has said.
"The version they came up with is illegal and unconstitutional," Volodymyr Filenko said during a briefing.
He believes that if President Viktor Yanukovych signs this law, he will be violating the Constitution. "They’ve set him up, because President Yanukovych faces a difficult choice – sign or not sign this law, violate the Constitution as its guarantor, like the majority in the Verkhovna Rada did, or uphold it," Volodymyr Filenko explained.
The parliamentarian has predicted that the president will indeed sign the law. "I can predict with great probability that these are both hands of one political team and that the president will not veto this law."
Today, March 9, with 235 votes, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law changing parliamentary regulations and allowing a coalition to be formed by deputies and not just factions.
